Time to unplug your wedding???

You can sign up to receive these posts directly to your
e-mail by filling your e-mail in over to the right. --->

Now's the time, and this IS the wagon to jump onto....

That's right, maybe it's time to finally unplug at your wedding. I've written about it before and I'll probably write about it again. It's been a bit over the top lately. From bridesmaids posting images of the getting ready on instagram, twitter, facebook and the likes. And all of a sudden, a groom who's not supposed to see his soon to be wife sneaks those peeks.

Of course we could also talk about the ceremony. Before the ceremony, instead of people sharing their greetings with those around them and talking about the day as it begins, they look down at their phone, checking scores, posting about their mornings and the likes... And of course, the random phones, cameras and recently, even iPads being held in the air trying to get that shot which they will never do anything with. Maybe it's a race to see who can be the instagram wedding shot. The bride kiss and strut their newly-wed stuff back down the isle only to see 237 phones being held up in their faces instead of seeing the smiles of all their friends and family....

So maybe it's time, maybe it's finally time to do your wedding a HUGE favor and have your guests unplug and instead of being elsewhere online, actually BE at your wedding... Not to mention, you'll get even awesome'er photos from your professional photographer (hopefully that's me) with just the two of you, your wedding party and guests with out the random hands holding pieces of electronics up in the air.....

Here's an article that may help out just that little bit more. But it's surely something to think about.

New England Weather And Weddings - TAB Photographic - Lindsy and Erics Wedding At Farmington Gardens Farmington, Ct.

Living in New England means MANY things... We have the ocean, we have lush country and old farms. Cows, Bears, Deer, Bald Eagles to chickadees.... From where I live, I can be in Boston in two hours, NYC in an hour and 45 minutes. In 2 hours I can be in the white mountains of New Hampshire and in an hour and a half, the beaches of Rhode Island.

We surely have our own styles, we have seasons and we have our handful of pretentious folks too. haha.....

Want to know what else we have? We have extremes in weather, in the past 4 weeks, TAB Photographic has shot weddings in 44 degree weather and pouring, the following week 98 and crazy humid, the next week 60 and raining with tropical storm remnants coming around. Really, what I'm getting at is you NEVER know what we will have through the year. It's unpredictable to say the least.....

This makes weddings more fun, keeps us all on our toes. As a photographer, I do what I do no matter what weather comes our way. The main goal though, that main goal isn't for me. It's for my couples. To quite simply embrace what ever mother nature throws our way.

This wedding for Lindsy and Eric was no different. It was one of the cold rainy ones. As you can see from the slideshow unfolding though, everyone embraced the moments.

No matter where I'm shooting a wedding, all I can remind all my awesome couples to do is quite simple, let the day unfold as it will and embrace what ever weather we have. From a Jamaica wedding where it may be 90 with 140% humidity to right here in Farmington Ct. at Farmington Gardens when it may be 45 and raining...

Embrace the weather, embrace the moments and for the rest of your lives, embrace each other.....

Moments are what it's all about - TAB Photographic Ct. New England NYC Boston Wedding Photographers

Moments. Moments in life..... As they say:

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we takebut by the moments that take our breath away"

Being a photographer and primarily shootings weddings, it's the moments that I witness and capture through so many days. And it doesn't seem to matter how many weddings I am invited into, these moments still take my breath away. Yes, even as the photographer, they take my breath away.

From someone viewing the bride for the first time to a tear rolling down a brides cheek as she dances with her father, forgetting that there is even anyone else in the room. Just the two of them, whispering to each other, smiling, laughing, crying......

I think this year is going to really be a year of moments, seeing more of them, capturing more of them and sharing more of them.

The transformation, where this beautiful woman - no longer is just a woman, but a bride. Her wedding gown going on, the final moments going from herself, to a bride to a beautiful wife. Those moments that will never happen again...... Not to be rushed, but instead taken in. The beauty of love, the excitement of the day, and the dreaming of the future.....

Or this moment, right below. After the ceremony, the bridal party walking off to the reception, the bride and groom alone, for the first time in the day and possibly all night. Where they can relish in the moment, it's no longer me or you, but "us".... Taking it in. Me hiding in the background and letting them just be.... One of the moments of the day where nothing else mattered but that instant. That second... That Moment.............. Where the world was theirs and theirs alone....................

Or this image below. The father seeing his daughter for the first time as a bride. I had cleared the entire house out and had her waiting, the tears rolled down. The energy built. And then..... Then they faced each other and it was like a tornado of pure energy... Completely magical...........

It's these moments that make what I do, magical..... Where I truly am extremely lucky to have this career path which I wouldn't give up for anything. Where I am not just a photographer, but a documenter, not just a shot taker, but a creator and not just another person with a camera trying to make "a buck" but an individual that feels each and every one of these moments unfolding through each wedding day I am lucky enough to be invited into.

You should live these moments on your day and I should let you have the ability to relive them for the rest of your future.....

Lauren and Brian in Adventures With Shooting - Collinsville, Ct. Engagement Session by Ct. Wedding Photographers TAB Photographic

[ TAB Photographic ]

When you can embrace adventures, the weather and possibly taking a few more steps than you normally would, well...... It pays off in the end.

And this is the proof. Sure, we started out inside. That was great and all. But for Brian and Lauren, they were game for anything. So there we went, let's park the cars and hike it through knee deep snow to get to "the shacks".... And what a payoff it was.

And want to take it one step further, wear the hottest pink sweater you can find. (possibly the brightest in existence.) And yea, it went awesome with our final destination.....

This is just proof that when you push the limit of where you may want to go. When you open your mind to possibilities. There can be great outcomes. And this is sure to be an intro into what will be spectacular wedding day images.

And how will their wedding day go down? With the utmost style and an awesome love.....

February 22nd 2013...

::FIFTY THREE::

Life isn't about how you handle things when everything's going right. It's about how you handle things when everything's going wrong.

What do you do for yourself and those around you when things start going wrong?

February 21st 2013....

::FIFTY TWO::

What do you believe in? Happiness? Love? Fate???? You have the ability to choose what you do and don't believe in. The key needs to be reminding yourself about your beliefs and standing strong to them.

So yea, what do you believe in???
